Hi, I'm Luke Mensink.
I'm a Junior at Rosemount High School: a student leader, a baseball player, and an avid traveller and outdoorsman. Whether I'm helping out in school, travelling, or competing on the diamond, I've learned that the most important parts of leadership involve kindness in the way you treat others and how you make them feel.
Those same values are very important in student government. As Rosemount's elected Student Body President and a MASC Capital Division Officer, I've seen firsthand what's possible when students are given a voice, and their ideas are heard. Now I want to bring that energy to every student in Minnesota.
"Leadership is being kind to others, and taking action with others in mind."
What I'll fight for.
These aren't just talking points, they're a concrete plan to make MASC work harder for every Minnesota student.
Amplify the student voice
Strengthen the connection between MASC and school administrators so student ideas and feedback directly shape school-level decisions, from scheduling to student life, across every district.
Connect students to their futures
Partner with post-secondary counselors to create real career and college exploration opportunities for students across Minnesota.
Take student voices to the Capitol
Build a direct line between MASC and Minnesota legislators so the students who are affected by education policy have a seat at the table when those laws are written.
Unite students across the state
Bring students together through shared experiences, like new events and partnerships with the Twins and Timberwolves, to create and continue programs that spark lasting friendships, connections, and big ideas.
Why I'm ready.
Leading a school community, advocating for student needs, and building a culture of inclusion and action day-to-day at Rosemount, especially during massive renovations at RHS, where strong leadership is vital.
Experience working within the statewide MASC structure, coordinating across districts and schools to advance student leadership, and bringing in more school members to our events and CapDiv community.
I'm involved in a variety of clubs and activities such as DECA, NHS, Model UN, Spanish Honor Society, and both Varsity and club Baseball, giving me unique experience and diverse perspectives.
Your voice shapes MASC.
Minnesota students deserve a president who shows up. Have an idea, a need, or just want to say hello, reach out. Your voice matters.
